Congress reinstates Pell eligibility for incarcerated students
The biggest news in the field of higher education in prison in decades: Congress will restore Pell grants for incarcerated students, 26 years after the 1994 crime bill banned Pell access for students in prison.
This victory is owed to so many of our colleagues around the country and incarcerated and formerly incarcerated advocates who have worked toward this day for decades.
