Calls for support of YPEI from around campus

Recent calls for support of the Yale Prison Education Initiative have come from across Yale's campus.

In its Black Lives Matter Call to Action, the Department of African American Studies called on colleagues, students, and the public to:

"Demand that Yale College properly fund and support the Yale Prison Education Initiative. This innovative program offers Yale College courses to incarcerated students in CT state prisons."

Yale's School of Art, Department of English, and Theater & Performance Studies Program also pledged or called for support of YPEI in recent public statements.

Update: in October, the Yale Faculty of Arts & Sciences Senate passed a resolution of support for YPEI. Read more at this link.
